The Story of Scholarship Work Day
In 1965, students initiated the Scholarship Work Day event to help make a CRMS education available to others, regardless of their economic status. Every year since then, crews of students and faculty have spent this day working in the greater Carbondale community doing household jobs, such as yard work, painting, cleaning, and landscaping, to help raise money to support the CRMS Scholarship Fund.

CRMS currently provides over $2 million annually in financial assistance to its students, many of whom are local-area students who choose the unique educational experience that CRMS provides. This year, 39% of all the students at CRMS receive some level of financial aid.

In addition to the money raised by the student work crews, the primary source of funding for Scholarship Work Day comes from local community sponsors and family supporters. In these challenging economic times, the need for scholarships is greater than ever. Your sponsorship will help ensure the continued success of Scholarship Work Day. To learn more, please contact Lindsay Pfaffmann, Director of Annual Giving.
